Meet The Owner
Meet Alex Ferro
Founder of Ferro Home Buyers
Hi, I'm Alex Ferro. I started investing in real estate in 2006 and survived the housing crash and have seen firsthand how overwhelming a property can become when someone is dealing with repairs, tenants, foreclosure, inheritance, or a house they simply no longer want to manage.
Before building Ferro Home Buyers, I worked in banking and mortgage loss mitigation. That experience gave me a different perspective. I understand that selling a property is not always just about price; sometimes it is about timing, certainty, privacy, and being able to move forward.
Today, I am a licensed North Carolina real estate agent and the founder of Ferro Home Buyers. That allows me to look at each situation honestly. Sometimes I'll tell you to sell it to me. Other times I'll tell you not to. If listing the property is likely to put more money in your pocket, that's the conversation we're going to have. If that’s the case, I’ll tell you. Either way, my goal is to give you clear advice without pressure.
Local to North Carolina
Based in Winston-Salem, I work with homeowners throughout the Triad and across North Carolina. Because I'm local, I can meet in person, walk properties, and understand the neighborhoods I'm buying in.
Licensed NC Real Estate Agent
As a licensed North Carolina real estate agent, I can explain both selling directly for cash and listing your property on the open market. My job is to help you choose the option that truly fits your situation.
English & Spanish
Real estate is stressful enough without language barriers. I speak both English and Spanish so you can ask questions and feel comfortable throughout the entire process.
Honest Advice. No Pressure.
Not every property should be sold to us. If listing your home or pursuing another option makes more sense, I'll tell you. My goal is to help you make the right decision—not force one.

Understanding Your Situation
Why I Understand Out-of-State Owners
Over the years, life has taken me from Florida to Philadelphia, New Hampshire, and Chicago, and along the way, I somehow managed to trade all that for North Carolina pollen. Because of that, I understand what it's like to have ties to a place you no longer call home.
Many of the homeowners I work with inherited a property from a parent or relative, moved away years ago, or have been trying to manage a rental property from another state. Coordinating contractors, dealing with tenants, handling maintenance, and making major decisions from hundreds of miles away can become overwhelming very quickly.
I've also been on the ownership side myself. Today, I own rental properties, have completed full renovations, and operate short-term rentals. I know firsthand that owning real estate isn't always passive income. Sometimes it's unexpected repairs, difficult tenants, late-night phone calls, and decisions you never planned on making.
That's one reason so many of our clients live outside North Carolina. They aren't looking for someone to pressure them into selling; they're looking for someone local they can trust to be their eyes, ears, and boots on the ground while helping them understand all of their options.
Honest Advice Comes First
Why Being Licensed Changes The Conversation
One thing that sets Ferro Home Buyers apart from your traditional "we buy houses" companies is that I'm not limited to a single solution.
As a licensed North Carolina real estate agent (License #348581) with Wayfinder Homes LLC, I can look at your situation from multiple angles. If selling directly to us is the best option, I'll explain why. If listing your property on the open market is likely to put more money in your pocket, I'll tell you that too.
A lot of companies that advertise "We Buy Houses" only have one path forward because buying your house is the only service they offer. My goal is different. I want you to understand every realistic option available so you can make the decision that best fits your timeline, your finances, and your goals.
Sometimes that means we buy the property. Sometimes it means listing it with an agent. Sometimes it means waiting because selling today isn't in your best interest. I'd rather earn your trust by giving you honest advice than earn a deal by telling you only what you want to hear. I've bought houses with perfect kitchens and houses where I wouldn't let my dog walk inside. At the end of the day, the condition of the property has never been the most important part of the conversation.
I'd rather tell you the truth and lose a deal than tell you what gets me a deal.
A SMALL TEAM. PERSONAL SERVICE.
You'll Always Know Who You're Talking To
Ferro Home Buyers is intentionally a small local company. When you call us, you're talking to the people actually involved in buying your property, not a national call center or someone reading from a script.
While I personally handle property evaluations, negotiations, and help you determine the best path forward, my uncle Roberto works alongside me, handling many of our day-to-day operations and communicating with homeowners throughout the process. Having another familiar voice available means sellers aren't waiting days for a return call or wondering who they're talking to next.
Behind the scenes, we also work closely with experienced closing attorneys, title companies, contractors, inspectors, and local real estate professionals with whom I've built relationships over nearly two decades in the industry. Every property is different, and having the right people involved helps transactions move smoothly from the first phone call all the way through closing.
Our goal has never been to become the biggest home-buying company. We'd rather remain a company where every homeowner knows exactly who they're working with and can reach someone who already understands their situation.
REAL STORY
She Was Three States Away
The Situation
Laura lived several hours away from a rental property and was tired of managing tenants from a distance.
The Challenge
Right after contacting us, the water heater burst and flooded the home, creating an even bigger problem.
The Solution
We coordinated repairs, helped manage the situation locally, and ultimately sold the property off-market without the owner needing to travel back and forth.
Outcome: Laura avoided the stress of remote management and moved on with a successful sale.
REAL STORY
Two Projects. Two Years. No Way Out.
The Situation
A contractor had spent more than two years trying to renovate two investment properties that were nearly stripped to the studs.
The Challenge
Financial pressure continued to grow, and he was approaching bankruptcy with no realistic way to finish the projects.
The Solution
We found a cash buyer willing to purchase both properties exactly as they sat and closed in just 14 days.
Outcome: The seller received the funds he needed to move forward while the buyer completed the renovations.
REAL STORY
The House Burned. Sara Didn't Want To Rebuild
The Situation
An inherited rental property suffered a major fire after a tenant caused extensive damage.
The Challenge
The owner had already received the insurance proceeds and had no desire to rebuild or manage another project.
The Solution
We negotiated a fair purchase price for the land and closed quickly, allowing the owner to move on without rebuilding.
Outcome: Seller kept the insurance proceeds, sold the land, and closed the chapter without additional headaches.
ONE LAST THOUGHT
Whether We Work Together Or Not...
If you've made it this far, thank you.
You now know more about me than most people ever will before picking up the phone. Honestly, it even took me a while to convince some of my friends to read this whole page — everyone's busy these days — so I genuinely appreciate you taking the time.
Maybe you're dealing with an inherited property. Maybe you're tired of being a landlord. Maybe you're just wondering whether selling even makes sense.
Whatever brought you here, I'd genuinely like to hear your story.
If buying your property is the right solution, I'll explain why. If it isn't, I'll tell you that too. My goal isn't to convince you to sell your house — it's to help you make the decision that's best for you.
And if nothing else, I hope you leave our conversation with a little more clarity than you had before.
There is never any obligation, no pressure, and no expectation that every conversation has to end with a sale. Sometimes the most valuable thing I can offer is simply helping someone understand what comes next.
Thank you again for visiting our website. I've walked through beautiful homes that belonged in magazines, and I've walked into houses where opening the front door was an adventure. Neither one tells me anything about the people who live there. Every house has a story, and so does every homeowner. That's what I'm interested in. If I can help in any way, I'd be honored to earn your trust.
— Alex Ferro
Founder, Ferro Home Buyers
P.S. After nearly twenty years in real estate, I still enjoy walking through old houses and hearing the stories behind them. Every property is different, and that's one of the reasons I still love what I do. Just one favor if we ever walk a house together... don't open the fridge. Trust me on that one lol
Alex Ferro is a licensed North Carolina real estate agent (License #348581) with Wayfinder Homes LLC. Whether the right move is a fast cash sale or listing your property on the open market, he'll walk you through both honestly so you can make the decision that best fits your goals.
